Our Doctors
Dr. Steven Epstein 

Dr. Steven Epstein is a graduate of the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced in New York City in multi-doctor settings, gastroenterology referral hospitals, and emergency and critical care centers.  He served as an appointed officer of the NewYork Veterinary Medical Association, and was veterinarian at the Westminister Dog Show and at the Madison Square Garden Cat Show in 1991 and 1992.  Dr Epstein is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Jefferson Area Veterinary Medical Association.  Dr. Epstein currently serves on the Veterinary Advisory Board of the Charlottesville SPCA.

Jennifer Bryant
Hospital Manager
Veterinary Assistant

Jennifer  has been a part our animal health care team at the Animal Hospital of Ivy Square since 2004.  She enjoys every working aspect in the animal medical field including: management, reception, assisting, and accounts receivable.  She is currently enrolled at Penn Foster College obtaining an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology en route to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.  Outside of her working hours she is a competitive bowler and softball player.  Jennifer's hobbies include her god-children and anything involved outdoors.  At the end of a busy day, she enjoys spending time at home with her husband, three dogs, five horses, and twenty-six chickens.

Candice Waycaster 
Veterinary Assistant 

Prior to joining our team, Candice spent 3 years as an Equine Veterinary Assistant.  Candice attended Sweet Briar College and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.  Currently, Candice is a veterinary Technician student at Penn Foster College and enjoys learning as much as possible about Veterinary Medicine.  When not working at the Animal Hospital, Candice competes in Equestrian Show Jumping and Eventing and teaches horseback riding lessons.  She also enjoys spending time with her husband, dog (Shiner), cat (Squirrel), and going canoeing, camping, and being outdoors.

Christine Williams
Veterinary Assistant 

Christine is excited to be a member of the team at the Animal Hospital of Ivy Square.  She’s trying to learn as much as she can about veterinary medicine while working here.  Christine plans to apply for Veterinary School for the fall of 2011.  She graduated with a Biology major from the University of Mary Washington in 2008 and was lucky enough to be a research intern at the Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys following graduation.  When she’s not working, Christine loves to play Ultimate Frisbee and go hiking.

Jonathan Jobin
Groomer

Jonathan Jobin is happy to be working as a groomer at the Animal Hospital.  Prior to working here, he worked in New York.

Matisse
Hospital Cat

Matisse is one of our hospital cats. We love him tremendously! He enjoys his days playing chasing in  the hallways, "LOVES" biting ankles, and sitting on laps! Matisse came to us as an outdoor cat but after being diagnosed with diabetes, he now enjoys a luxury life here with us at the Animal Hospital!
